Jayda Adams - I joined LOD because I heard so many great things about the group and how it is a sisterhood of strong women coming together to improve the community, I wanted to be apart of that. I love how I have improved my social skills as well as my look on how to treat my community better.
Kadijah Turner - My name is Kadijah Turner, I am in the 11th at LBJ Early College High School. I joined LOD so I could better myself mentally. Coming into High School I knew everything was going to change. The way I thought, my motivation, communication, and goals were going to change. I knew by joining a group full of girls, it could help me conquer and embrace the changes. The same way my LOD sisters could bring me up, is the same way I would also return the love.
I have improved by becoming self motivated. There are plenty of people I look up to, but the obstacles I achieve are for myself. Everything I do is for me, not to please anyone else. I look at everything in a positive light. I used to let little things ruin my day, but now I just move on to make the situation better. LOD has helped me find out who I am.
My plans after High School is to attend Louisiana State University. This is where I would like to get a degree in criminal justice.
Aija Scott - My name is Aija Scott, I am a 11th grader at Lyndon B. Johnson ECHS and I joined LOD to help me come out of shyness and be more of a leader for people around me. I knew this group was an all girls group and I would be able to say something without being embarrassed. While being in LOD I feel I’ve improved on being open to meeting new people, talking more, and expressing myself when I need to. This has also helped me in my ACC classes because when I have to present I am more confident in myself then I use to be. My plans after high school are to go to college and work to become a doctor but still be able to help the criminal justice side. I also would like to work if I have time.
Tiffany -
1. I joined LOD because I wanted to contribute to a sisterhood that actively participates in the community. I did not know many people my sophomore year and it was a really good way to get introduced to positive, like-minded individuals. I also wanted to do more good in the neighborhood surrounding the school and give back so LOD has allowed me to have many opportunities to do this.
2. I have improved my confidence, poise, and a better understanding of the world through LOD. Through the many character-building activities and inspirational guest speakers LOD has exposed me to, I have gained a better understanding of my self worth. I have also been able to interact with many people at the activities thus giving me a better understanding of the world around me.
3. After high school I plan on attending Texas A&M University and entering their Mays School of Business. I plan on studying Marketing Consulting and Digital Analytics or perhaps following a pre-Law track. With my current transferable credits, I'd be able to get my MBA early and intern at an International Marketing
firm.
Citlalli's Why -
1. I joined LOD to find a sisterhood that I couldn't find at LASA.
2. I have improved by doing more volunteer opportunities and being more mindful of my actions and how to be a leader.
3. After graduation I plan to either take a gap year and volunteer or to go to College and Major in Public Health with a Pre-Med track so I can hopefully become a doctor and help out as many people as I can with my knowledge.
Karen Reyes' Why
 1. I joined LOD to create  a big understanding for a sisterhood and to get more community service opportunities.
2. I have learned how to speak with others, also how to dress professionally, and to present in front of a crowd. How to build a sisterhood.
3. After High School I plan on attending college and earning my Bachelors degree in Pre-Med. After college I will go to medical school and earn my medical degree to become a general surgeon.

Liliana Rogel's Why -
The reason why I joined LOD is that I wanted to help the people around me and improve myself. How I improved was being much more helpful to other people and actually managing my time effectively and doing things that I haven't done before. My plan after High School is going to a four-year university that has courses available for my major which is Pre-Med since my dream is to become a Cardio-thoracic surgeon.
Hello Ladies,
1. I joined LOD for the community that fosters encouragement and positivity. I have heard much about the sisterhood that was developed through the program.
2. By joining LOD, I have learned to appreciate my community in every setting such as at school, church, etc.  I have become more well-rounded as a student, friend, and daughter.
3. I plan to go to college to pursue a career in medicine. Afterward, I'll go to med. school and become the first doctor in my family.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
Mandy Chan
Amelie Olvera's Why -
Why I joined L.O.D was because I was very anti-social and never attended nor joined any social gatherings or clubs. L.O.D was my first experience in joining a group of other girls who are just like me and to socialize and bond with them. L.O.D has taught me to be more involved in more volunteering work and to be more involved in social and events that will help my community for the better.I am now a more social person and have made a better person out of myself being in L.O.D and will continue to do so. My plan after high school is to go to college to study in pre-med and become a doctor. I will  also want to volunteer in an organization that i can help in. Because of L.O.D i want to become a woman who will strive in the medical field.
Celeste Munoz's Why -
I joined LOD because I wanted to be a part of something that did good things in my community. I fell off in participating when family problems kept popping up, but I have enjoyed being a part of it and seeing the positive impact it has on the way we think about ourselves and how we carry ourselves everyday.
Something that I have seen myself improve in is definitely getting to know more people through this organization because it has helped me a bunch with being more comfortable about approaching new people first instead of them always approaching me first.
I plan to finish my Associates Degree this summer after graduating from LBJ and attending Huston Tillotson in the Fall. I hope to earn my B.A in Psychology and one day have my own office and be one of the top psychologists  that help people reach recovery at a fast rate because I feel like mental health and depression isn’t talked about enough and with me dealing with depression in my past it makes me want to be a part of the help in helping people to be happy and have a positive outlook on life no matter what gets thrown at them.
